Intentional Interiors featuring Banner Day

When it comes to the home, we might be considered professionals in the pantry, but we prefer to leave the decorating to the real experts: interior designers. We recently connected with Clara Jung, principle designer at San Francisco based Banner Day Interiors, who shared her best tips for creating intentional living spaces. Discover her signature balance of playful patterns and minimal aesthetic, and how you can duplicate it in your home.

A DOSE OF WHIMSY

Go bold with a statement wallpaper to give the space its own unique personality.

Tip: Keep the larger furniture pieces neutral, yet polished, so the room can grow up with your little one beyond those early years.

POPS OF BRASS

Make your powder room extra fun for guests by selecting brass hardware to compliment a statement wallpaper.

Tip: Keep everything else warm and neutral to let the walls and accessories shine. The wallpaper can be replaced or removed in a couple of years with little effort. It’s maximum impact for minimal output.

PATTERN PLAY

Strike a balance by combining a detailed wallpaper with an assortment of finishes.

Tip: Choosing a pattern with hand drawn lines and muted colors allows you to keep everything else neutral. Here, the wallpaper sings while the black, white and wood tones create a sophisticated balance.
