Space Lift: Multi-Function Pantry
One of the newest trends in kitchen design is no upper cabinets. Aesthetically – we LOVE this, but practically – it can be a challenge. Our very own Lauren Combs (NEAT Method Detroit) created a multi-function pantry in her home that makes you wonder if uppers are even necessary at all.
Take a look at this pantry and see what makes it so functional and NEAT!
City :: Detroit, MI
Organizer :: Lauren Combs
Designer :: Maison Birmingham
Photographer :: Boswell Creative
Room :: Pantry
Hours to complete :: 6 Hours
Objective :: Without any upper cabinets, this pantry needed to act as cabinet space for glasses, mugs, a few hidden appliances and an efficient food pantry!
Lauren’s favorite feature :: The coffee station is not only functional, but a highlight of the space. The doors look pretty both open and clossed because of the design and product choices. The plan came together well – we used every inch of space and maintained a minimal clean look.
Stand out product :: The baskets chosen blend perfectly with the graphite colored doors and interior walnut of the cabinets creating a beautiful and complete design.
What’s your favorite part of this pantry?

Lets face it – we obviously love to organize and are a little…or maybe we should say a lot type-A. This perfect storm created The Neat Life. Welcome! We’ve seen it all, heard it all, organized it all, and are always obsessed with seeing a perfectly NEAT space. Even if a clutter free space doesn’t tickle your fancy as much as ours, we guarantee you will be entertained by our antics and drive to make the world a NEAT-er place!
