New NEAT City | Grand Rapids

It’s that time again! Launch week. This week we are launching new franchise owners and new markets! Let’s dive in to see who our new additions are.

We want to welcome Kristian Dunning of Grand Rapids, Michigan. We are thrilled she’s a part of the team. Let’s find out more about what makes her so NEAT.

NM :: Why do you want to run NEAT in your city?

KD :: I want to help people make their life more beautiful! When your home is organized, it makes you feel like your whole life is under control. I want to help people achieve that.

NM :: What did you do before NEAT?

KD :: I started my career as a labor and delivery nurse. While raising my children, I worked as an artist, interior designer, and house flipper. I have loved all of those jobs, but organizing is the dream job!

NM :: What makes your city unique?

KD :: We are a really cool city! We are just 30 minutes from the beaches of Lake Michigan. Great performance venues and restaurants downtown. Grand Rapids hosts ArtPrize, the world’s largest art competition in the fall. There are more than 40 breweries in the area, giving us the nickname “Beer City” by USA Today. Grand Rapids also boasts over 700 churches. I think it’s cool that Grand Rapids is known for beer and churches!

NM :: How long have you lived in your city?

KD :: I have lived in Grand Rapids for 30 years, except for a few short stints in Kalamazoo, Ann Arbor and my college years south of Chicago. But I always come back home to GR!

NM :: What are your favorite places to shop in your city?

KD :: Of course, Target and Homegoods should go without saying! But some of my other favorite shops are Rebel, Feather and Birch, Urban Exchange, Beyond the Door, Anthropologie and UBU Furniture.

NM :: Where are your favorite places to eat in your city?

KD :: Grand Rapids has a ton of great restaurants! I love eating on the deck at Rose’s on Reeds Lake. The Winchester has a great bloody mary bar. I also love The Green Well, Brewery Vivant, a burger at Stella’s Lounge and anything in the downtown market.

NM :: Show us a picture of your most organized space and tell us what it is.

KD :: My most organized space is my bathroom linen closet. I feel like even closets are an opportunity to decorate!

NM :: What about your least organized space? What the heck happened?

KD :: My least organized space is this corner under my basement stairs. It’s where my youngest daughter likes to play. Everyone who has children can relate to this explosion of toys!

NM :: What can people expect when they hire you to organize their home?

KD :: People can expect a kind and understanding friend, with a desire to create sustainable solutions to the problem areas in their home.

NM :: Do you have any hidden talents that we should know about?

KD :: I’m really proud of my construction skills! I know how to do framing, drywall, tiling, lay flooring, painting, install lighting and plumbing, landscaping and decorating. I joke that I can build anything!

That is very impressive. We may just have to have you over to our house some day! Congratulations on joining NEAT. We’re so excited to have you!

xx
