New NEAT City | Salt Lake City
The Beehive state and the Great Salt Lake are about to get a whole lot NEATer! We’re excited to officially launch our next city… Salt Lake City, Utah! Read our interview below to find out more about our newest gal, Chelsea Thomas, and learn how she plans to bring more organization (and boba tea!) to the SLC area.
NM :: Alright, Chelsea, please introduce yourself and tell us how you found your way to launching NEAT SLC!
CT :: Hi everyone! I’m Chelsea Thomas and I recently moved from Los Angeles back Salt Lake City a few months ago. I wanted to run NEAT in Salt Lake City because I ran out of places in my own home to organize! No but seriously, I find a lot of satisfaction in organizing messy spaces and I jumped at the chance to do something I enjoy for a living.
NM :: What’s one of your favorite things about living in the Salt Lake area?
CT :: I think what makes Salt Lake unique is how available the outdoors are within close proximity to the city. We are so lucky to have the beautiful Wasatch Mountains right outside our back door for hiking, skiing and camping.
NM :: Tell us more about SLC! What are some your favorite places to shop and eat?
CT :: One of my favorite places to shop in Salt Lake is the Fashion Place Mall. I am a sucker for one-stop shops and I can find all my very favorite stores there including The Container Store! When I have more time on my hands I like to stop by Tai Pan for cutesy holiday decor. They also have great baskets.
When I lived in LA, I ate at Spitz probably once a week! I have to drive a little farther to my local Spitz in Salt Lake but I am obsessed with their yummy greek food. You have to try the donor basket with sweet potato fries. I am also really into Sweet Lake Biscuits and Limeade. The orange raspberry limeade and the St Francis with avocado is so, so good. As a huge fan of boba milk tea I also drive 30 minutes to Gossip Tapioca when I can. Best boba in the city.
NM :: Ok let’s chat organized and disorganized spaces! What is the most organized space in your home?
CT :: The most organized space in my house is probably the open shelving in my bathroom. I was a little annoyed to have open wire shelving in place of a proper linen closet so I came up with a solution that looks pretty enough to always be on display. One of my very favorite organization products is the hyacinth basket line from The Container Store. They are sturdy and pretty and not too expensive. They work in tons of spaces and are very popular with lots of different people.
NM :: Ok… now what about the least organized space? Everyone has one!
CT :: My least organized space is my husband’s office. He doesn't let me organize in there! Sometimes I get anxiety thinking about the closet in there.
NM :: Ha we know that feeling all too well! What do you think is going to be your favorite part of running NEAT SLC?
CT :: I can’t wait to help my client's homes run more smoothly and hear how their new organization is improving their busy lives. And of course, seeing the new space come together will be a lot of fun! My clients can expect a finished space that is completely organized in a way that is specific to their needs and tastes. And of course, it will look amazing! So the next time a guest walks into their pantry, garage, or playroom you can be proud rather than embarrassed.
NM :: And last but not least, our favorite question… any hidden talents or fun facts we should know about you?
CT :: While I am not usually a fan of cooking, I can make a pretty good sea salt cream jasmine tea with boba. I cook my own boba, which is something I started doing after moving from LA to Salt Lake. I am just a little too far from my favorite boba place here!
NM :: Wow! When can we try some of this homemade boba?! We might have to plan a SLC trip soon just to do so! Anything else you want to share?
CT :: It just feels meant to be that I found NEAT Method and I’m so excited to get started organizing Salt Lake City!
NM :: Well the feeling is mutual Chelsea!!
If you are in Salt Lake and are eager to live the NEAT life, please reach out to Chelsea at Chelsea@neatmethod.com, she may just bring a boba tea if you are lucky.
