New NEAT City | Westchester
It’s that time again – we are launching new NEAT girls. We are so excited to introduce you to Abbie Polak launching Westchester County. Read more about her to see why she’s a perfect addition to the NEAT family.
NM :: Why do you want to run NEAT in your city?
AP :: For as long as I can remember, being organized has given me a sense of peace. I consider organizing spaces and bringing order to homes my passion. After working with the amazing NYC NEAT team for a year, the time was right to up my game and be the boss. With the beautiful homes and neighborhoods in Westchester and Southern Connecticut, I couldn’t be more excited to bring NEAT to this location.
NM :: What did you do before you NEAT?
AP :: I worked in fashion for the past 15 + years, and have had every role there is to have. From buyer, to sales rep, to showroom manager. Clothing, accessories, and fashion have always had my heart (and closets will always be my favorite space to organize).
NM :: How long have you lived in your city?
AP :: Almost 6 years ago we moved from NYC to the burbs.
NM :: What makes your city unique?
AP :: Westchester county and Southern Connecticut are really the best of both worlds – it combines NYC chic with a small town suburban vibe. There are so many little towns and villages that comprise this area. You can go apple picking in the fall, walk in a Frosty Day parade during the holidays, take a hike in the spring through a beautiful State Park, and hit the beach along the Connecticut coastline come summer, and still have time to make it into Manhattan for dinner and drinks.
NM :: What are your favorite places to shop in your city?
AP :: So many cute stores all over Westchester and Southern Connecticut! I love to shop at Tru Grace in Armonk, and Lesters in Rye brook for my little girls. Greenwich Avenue in Greenwich Ct – you can shop for anything and everything, or even just a stroll down the avenue for an afternoon.
NM :: What are your favorite places to eat in your city?
AP :: We are big Mexican food fans, so we love Truck in Bedford and Bar Taco in Port Chester (or Westport). Our fave Italian is 25 North in Mamaroneck. And for the best Thai, Little Thai Kitchen in Chappaqua.
NM :: Show us your most organized space!
The most organized space is always my closet, hands down. It’s not huge, but nothing is ever out of place.
NM :: Show us a picture of your least organized space and tell us what the heck happened.
AP :: I have 2 kids’ junk drawers filled with knick knacks that just make me crazy. My girls are in and out of them so much, it is almost impossible to keep them organized.
NM :: What do you think is going to be your favorite part of running NEAT in your city?
AP :: I think my favorite part will be meeting new clients who get so excited that you are going to make their homes and lives more organized. Westchester and Southern Connecticut have some of the most beautiful homes in the country and I love the idea of helping clients to get organized and have the inside of their homes match the beauty of the outside.
NM :: What can people expect when they hire you to organize their home?
AP :: Clients can expect me to be honest about why they need to simplify their homes and hold their hand if they are a little resistant to do so. I truly feel that less is more and I am always sure to let the client know that I pass no judgment on any space and that I am truly here to help.
NM :: What is your favorite product to use to organize things?
AP :: I love when items in cabinets and drawers stay in place neatly, so I LOVE Linus Bins. They work in pantries, laundry rooms, playrooms, really anywhere you need to contain and neatly line up the client’s items.
Thanks Abbie! We are so excited to see you get Westchester County NEAT!
